Our Doctors


Dr. Gordon Lam, OD, was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He attended the University of British Columbia where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences in 2001. Subsequently he attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry in 2006. During his studies he participated in work with the disabled community, including work at the Lower Mainland Brain Injury Association and volunteering at the Eagle Ridge Hospital.

His clinical training includes primary, contact lens, and pediatric care at the Illinois Eye Institute, co-managing post-operative patients with ophthalmologists in Mount Dora, FL, and low vision and ocular disease at Veteran Affairs hospitals in Mountain Home, TN, and Walla Walla, WA. Since graduating Dr. Lam worked on Vancouver Island for 3 years before moving home to practice in the Greater Vancouver area.

Dr. Lam is a member of the British Columbia Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists. In addition he is able to converse in Cantonese.

In his spare time he enjoys photography, jazz, good food, good wine, as well as spending time with his wife and kid.


Dr. Tommy Tseng, OD, was born in Taiwan and grew up in Burnaby, BC. He graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He went on to pursue a Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, where he graduated in 2009 with Cum Laude Honours. He was also part of the Tomb & Key Honours and Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honours Fraternities.

As part of his professional studies, Dr. Tseng provided primary, contact lens and low vision care at the Illinois Eye Institute, managed advanced ocular disease at the Jonathan M. Wainwright VA medical center in Walla Walla, WA, and co-managed refractive surgery patients with ophthalmologists at the Gordon-Binder & Weiss Vision Institute in San Diego, CA. After graduating, Dr. Tseng practised optometry on Vancouver Island for 2 years before moving back to the Lower Mainland.

Dr. Tseng is able to provide eye exams in Mandarin and English.

In his free time, Dr. Tseng likes to hike, as well as finding new restaurants and playgrounds to take his wife and kids to.
